GPS Photo Tag allows you to save your locations in your iPhone, while you use your professional camera to take pictures. When you arrive home and download your pictures and locations in your laptop you can use the free desktop application (Mac OS only for now; Windows version soon) to match and add locations to your pictures.

GPS Photo Tag saves location information (latitude, longitude and timestamp) in a sqlite database and lets you add a text label describing the place you are in. When you want to export your locations database you can send it to an email address. GPS Photo Tag will send an sqlite3 standard database so you can use your locations with other applications too.

Once downloaded to your MacBook, you can use the free application you can download at http://gpsphototag.bamtoo.com. For now the desktop application is available only for Mac OS. The desktop GPS Photo Tag connects to your iPhoto Library and lets you insert the saved locations in your pictures. The matching is done using the time and date of each pictures so make sure you set the correct time and date in your camera.

*** Version 1.1 added GPX and KML export option.

Use GPX files to import your locations in any Geolocation software capable of reading gpx files

Use KML files to show paths in Google Earth or Google Maps

*** Version 1.2 added Facebook, Yahoo Maps and Google Maps integration

Now you can use GPS Photo Tag to determine your current position (use Track location until you get a GPS fix) and get the exact address and map using Google Maps or Yahoo Maps. You can either send that map in an email or post it to Facebook along with your comments about that location.

*** From version 1.2.2 you can delete saved locations by location name. Theres no need to delete all locations.

Also from 1.2.2 you can choose to keep the phone screen always on when tracking. For this option there is a new switch in Configuration.
